Professional Practices

Quest understands safety and risk management is important to both employers and employees. Quest tours facilities to comprehensively review safety and risk control. To avoid costly fines, shut-downs, or excessive increase in insurance premiums, Quest can suggest customized risk control and safety compliance programs for Cal/OSHA and Workers’ Compensation; some are fee-based and some free of charge. These programs include:

  • Pre-screening applicants and post-offer drug testing
  • Risk assessments, safety checklists, and workplace evaluations for hazardous conditions and compliance with mandatory government safety, environmental, and workers’ compensation regulations
  • Illness and Injury Prevention Program (defining “primary and secondary” employer responsibilities)
  • Workplace Safety Training
  • Record-keeping systems customized for client’s operation

How We Recruit

  • Our standards are not designed to rank candidates, but to identify the best-qualified applicants for particular positions by conducting a careful analysis of the applicant’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Suitable candidates are prudently guided through our application, testing, and interview process to ensure full consideration of all applicable job openings through Quest Staffing Services.
  • Our consultants use tools including but not limited to an extensive applicant tracking system as well as a skill-based assessment software designed to match professional potential candidates with your company.
  • Quest consultants have been cross-trained, are highly skilled in talent acquisition, and are exceedingly focused on identifying the right candidates for your company.
  • Most candidate interviews are conducted in our office, face-to-face. This helps our consultants identify job applicants who best fit the culture of the companies we service.
  • Research and organize a recruitment plan to meet our client’s specifications.
  • Utilize innovative, database-centered search techniques.
  • Identify and approach specific candidates for passive recruitment.
  • Remain accessible to both clients and potential candidates with frequent communication and updates.
  • Provide employers with candidate profile summaries, including resume/salary requirements and skill sets.
  • Establish and coordinate interviews and schedule meetings between candidates and employers.
  • Follow-up with both parties after an interview.
  • Coordinate the job offer process for both candidate and client.
  • Prepare a candidate’s acceptance letter, as well as advising them through their start date.
  • Assure a smooth transition when an employee is no longer able to fill a position.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of using a Quest employee?
Using a Quest employee is an option for companies that need extra help during their busy season, or when filling in for regular employees on vacation or medical leave. Also, a great opportunity when increasing staff or opening a new job requisition. Quest’s rigorous hiring standards and unique programs allow employers and employees to work together for a specified probationary period to confirm that the placement will be a good match.
What makes Quest different from all the other employment services in the area?
Quest is locally owned and operated—our team consists of highly qualified individuals who are very involved with their community and who have longevity with Quest Staffing. While the employment industry is one with very high turnover, we pride ourselves in having long-term employees who are committed to finding you only qualified candidates to place at any level of your company.

We take the time to listen to the clients’ needs and may interview many candidates before finding the right fit—but if the perfect match is not available, Quest will always advise you accordingly. Our long-term relationships with the local business community have fostered trust in our ability to consistently recruit the best possible applicants for any position.

How long have you been in business?
We have been operating in Ventura County since 1987.
    What is your screening process?
All employees must have a consistent work history, good employment references, and be eligible to work in the United States. Criminal background and drug screens are available at an additional charge to employers.
How do you test employee’s skill sets?

Quest has invested in testing software for all the latest software and accounting packages. Employees are not considered for any position requiring software experience without first testing on software knowledge.
